Description
TELEFIRE TFB-180SBA
The TELEFIRE TFB-180SBA is an advanced analog addressable detector base with integrated horn and strobe functionality. This innovative device combines the functions of a standard detector base with an addressable horn and strobe combination, providing a compact and cost-effective solution for fire alarm systems. The base is compatible with TELEFIRE’s analog addressable detector series and can be directly connected to the SLC line.
Key Features
Integrated Horn and Strobe: The TFB-180SBA features a built-in addressable horn and strobe capable of producing various sound patterns and visual signals according to control panel programming
Configurable Sound Patterns: Five switches allow setting of horn and strobe operation:
- Switch 1: Horn and strobe operation mode setting (hornstrobe or horn only)
- Switch 2: Volume control (high/low)
- Switch 3-4: Sound pattern selection
- Switch 5: Must remain in off state
Available Sound Patterns:
- Continuous sound 910Hz (switch 3: ON, switch 4: ON)
- Bell 1440Hz (switch 3: ON, switch 4: OFF)
- Alternating sound 910Hz and 600Hz (switch 3: OFF, switch 4: ON)
Addressable Control: The horn has a separate address and can be independently programmed in the control panel. The “Silenced Horn” function allows horn silencing from the control panel while the strobe continues to operate until the “Respond” button is pressed on the panel
Technical Specifications
- Diameter (including base): 124 mm
- Height (without detector): 58 mm
- Operating Temperature Range: -10°C to +60°C
- Relative Humidity: 10% to 93% (non-condensing)
- Operating Voltage: 20V modulated (from SLC line) + 24VDC (from panel or TPS-74A/TPS-34A power supply)
- Current Consumption from SLC line:
- Quiescent state: 180 µA
- Alarm state: 2 mA
- Current Consumption from 24VDC line:
- Quiescent state: 12 mA
- Alarm state: 34 mA
Installation and Programming
Address Programming: The horn address must be burned to the device card using PROG-4000 software or TFC-7000 technician kit. Address programming applies only to the horn; the detector has its own address
Control Panel Settings: The device must be set as “Silenced Horn” type in the control panel. This allows horn silencing while the strobe continues to operate until the “Respond” button is pressed on the panel
Wiring: The device requires two types of power supply:
- SLC line for communication and detector power
- 24VDC line for horn and strobe power (from panel or external power supply)
Certifications
- IS 1220 Approved
