Description
GRI TFD-2800
The TFD-2800 is a water detection sensor designed for early detection of water damage. The device is particularly useful in locations where undetected water damage, such as leaking pipes or corroded water heaters, can cause significant property damage. The device operates without mechanical parts and can detect water layers as shallow as 1/16 inch (approximately 1.6 mm) in depth.
The sensor operates on a moisture bridge principle that forms between the sensor contacts. It requires only two wires for signal and power and features an open collector electronic trigger. The sensor simulates a simple dry contact, making it suitable for activating remote signaling devices or direct connection to most alarm panels and some wireless transmitters.
